Resumo
This report concerns a specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing, where two internships were included, one in the Emergency of S. João Hospital, and another one in the National Emergency Medical Institute (INEM). It is structured into four Domains of competencies. As methodology, I adopted the descriptive and analytical method, in a critical-reflexive exercise in which I confront experienced situations with the state of the art in this field. Importantly, in specialized care to the person and family domain, the ability to analyze complex situations and reflect on practical situations and factors that affect it, with good reason, which is a general goal of an internship and a core competence of the specialized Medical-Surgical Nurse. In this sphere, I tried to develop critical appreciation through discussion of cases and relevant issues with the staff in Module I and III, as well as conducting reflection charts at the end of each shift in Module III. Two situations analyzed aroused particular interest in me for its relevance, which motivated me to make written reflections, using the literature – therapeutic regimen adherence and the presence of the family in situations of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. In the care management field, I highlight the implementation of care plans in Module I and two information articles to the public on how to act in case of emergency and the operation and structure of INEM in Module III. In the quality management field, I emphasize the identification of problem-situations in both internships, as well as the proposed and implemented solutions, one of which in Module I, which consisted in the development of a project, about the improvement of nursing records quality. In Module III, I detected as a major problem the lack of adherence to therapy. Thus, after analysis on the subject, I done surveys on the INEM nurse´s in my internship locals, and appointed the activations in which I participated, in order to obtain data about this reality. This may contribute to the perception of the extend of this problem and the implementation of resolution strategies. The internships allowed me to not only know the area of operation of the emergency and prehospital care, but also reflect and rethink my practices in the Intensive Care Unit, a controlled and equipped environment, in which the person is often viewed as a patient, devoid of identity.
